Sunstainable Industry

After the CSIRO's recent report on climate change in Australia, which predicts drier, hotter, summers, longer droughts and less rainfall in the next 30 years, the world's biggest polluters - industry - are starting to change their ways. From carpet factories to car makers, and now wineries, we're starting to see some positive changes in industry.

Discuss this question with the class.

1. To your mind, what is a 'sustainable' business. (hint: click here)

2. Would you be more likely to buy products from companies that have good environmental practices, such as sustainable businesses?

3. Do think big businesses are changing their ways and becoming 'green' because they really want to help the planet survive and keep it healthy for future generations of people, animals, and plants? Or because they think it's 'the done thing' nowadays and don't want to be seen as old-fashioned?
