It's the movie no one over the age of 12 ever expected to make an impact, but the movie franchise Hollywood bean counters were hoping like hell would be the next Twilight.
Luckily for them, yes, The Hunger Games proved to be the cash cow they were expecting meaning that audiences should probably prepare now for the endless sequels, part ones and part twos and - of course - movie premieres. For some reason there are more movie premieres for these sorts of franchises than there are movies. Ah, the power of marketing!
Anyhew, here's what's happening in Battle Royale II... ahh... I mean "The Hunger Games : Catching Fire". Yeah, that's the one, sorry, very simple mistake to make!
Catching Fire kicks off after the events of the first in which Katniss Everdeen has returned home (alive, spoiler alert!) after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games (urrghll, I'm really not giving you much reason to watch the first one am I!?!).
Anyhew Peeta Mellark is along for the ride too, however victory isn't what it's cracked up to be with winners having to turn around and leave their family and close friends in order to embark on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts.
Soooo... kind of like a movie premiere... life imitating art!
Along the way Katniss senses a rebellion on the boil, something which could change the competition and Panem forever.
