It's the one off silly movie that somehow became a hit, that somehow became a franchise. We've seen it plenty of times before - because let's face it - there's no such thing as a comedy movie that ever REALLY needs a sequel. They aren't written as Lord Of The Rings opus', they're dick and fart jokes wrapped up in an affordably budgeted $35M package.
However, every so often a movie like The Hangover hits it big with $300M worldwide takings and there's no excuse NOT to make more. It happened with Caddyshack, it happened with Ghostbusters, it happened with Wayne's World. This won't be the last franchise-that-didn't-need-to-be...
Anyhow, at least they're promising this will be the last (but I'll guarantee you if this makes a bundle they'll be back for Hangover IV).
"The Hangover Part III" is the supposed third and final chapter Todd Phillips' (Old School) record shattering comedy franchise. There's a change up this time (those who remember Part II will also remember it was a complete shot for shot rehash of the first and was a waste of everyone's time) : this time, there's no wedding. No bachelor party.
So What could go wrong, right?
When the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off. Prepare to see people get rich for being lazy film writers guys!
