The blog brought an end to a 10 year relationship, introduced the author to a world previously unknown to her, demonstated how easily one can get caught up in something bigger than oneself and get lost in the excitement, mystery and attraction of fame (or at least her 15 minutes of it).
The book does provide an interesting sociological study of how a life of relative boredom and stagnation can be changed dramatically when someone, or in this case a lot of someones, take an interest in what you say and do. All that Catherine Sanderson did was put in writing and publish to the world the minutia of her day to day life and from that she attracted a following of like minded people who made her a minor celebrity. It is also an interesting study for the layperson with no, or little concept of how relationships can form on the internet. Sanderson found someone, a soulmate, who bought a little romance and intimacy back into her life. This book goes someway to explain how romances like this, can blossom and grow given the right nurturing and encouragement. The nature of the relationship was best described by one of the authors new found internet friends as a "relationship that grows from the inside out".
A light read examining one of today's pop-cultural phenomena.
