Aladdin is the tale of a young street rat who dreams of
something better in his life and somehow finds his destiny
wrapped up with that of the beautiful princess Jasmine.
With the help of a cheeky monkey Abu, a magic flying carpet
and of course a wacky geneie played by an outrageously over-the-top
Robin Williams, Aladdin has to battle evil for the good of
all in old Arabia.
The evil of which we speak is in the form of the vizier-turned
sorcerer Jafar who has for not only the crown, but also Jasmine.
To help him is his wickedly naughty parrot Iago.
The animation for Aladdin is excellent and so are the songs
that punctuate the movie. The best remembered is probably
A Whole New World, which has a modern update in the extras
package with a music video by Nick Lachey and his lady Jessica
(is this fish or chicken) Simpson.
Aladdin is a terrific movie for both adults and kids and
if you don't already have a DVD copy in your library now is
the time to get out and grab one.
Conclusion: Movie 85% Extras 90%
