One thing hadn’t shown though: the cheesiness of it all. From
the clothes to the hairstyles to the plot lines of the show
itself, 90210 was the newly crowned king of Camembert.
At
the same time, the Aaron Spelling produced series also found a way to
sneak some important issues into its weekly sandwich of soap. In Season
2, most of the issues were tied-in with screwed-up love interest (for
Brandon) character, Emily Valentine.
Highlights – besides
Brandon’s wild woman – for the season include Dylan and Brenda’s many
hurdles, hiccups and hot encounters; David Silver’s best buddy
unwillingly ending his own life; and the gang having to deal with
someone being raped at a Halloween Party.
Enough melodrama to sink a ship, quite simply.
The
quality of the episodes ranges from reasonable to pretty poor –
probably partly the blame of a poor quality source transfer. Still, I’m
betting they’re in better shape than some of your old VHS episodes of
the series.
EXTRASTheres a couple of cool inclusions
here - which is somewhat of a surprise. They include several
featurrettes including "Everything You Need To Know About Beverly Hills
90210 Season 2", "Meet the Walshes", "Our Favourite Valentine".
