He is asked by Graciella Rivers (Wanda De Jesus)
to investigate the unsolved murder of her sister and reluctantly
he takes it on. A friendly neighbour Buddy (Jeff Daniels)
helps him, although there are times when you think he may
be more of a hindrance than assistant.
His surgeon (Anjelica Huston) tells him not
to get involved in anything strenuous and his old sparring
partners within the FBI and local cops are not happy when
he starts poking around in the old investigation.
Still, McCaleb has his reasons for endangering
himself and not the least is the fact that his replacement
heart came from the dying woman.
Tied to her in a very real way, McCaleb begins
to wonder if there may not be another link to his past - one
that connects him with the serial killer.
As usual, Clint Eastwood has produced another
great movie to sit down and enjoy.
It is part thriller, part whodunnit but, most
of all, it is the actor and director showing that you don't
need to be young, fit and a hunk to carry a movie.
The characters are all nicely played and the
story is engaging.
Transfer-wise the video is very good with no
major eyesores and the sound has been intelligently used across
the surround channels.
Blood Work is yet more interesting film-making
from a master.
Conclusion: 85% Extras: 60%.
