Carry On Jack

Carry On Jack is the tale of a young naval officer Midhsipman Poopdecker (Bernard Cribbins) who is press-ganged after his identity is stolen by a comely wench called Bob (Juliet Mills).

They join the good ship Venus - don't go there - whose commander is none other than Captain Fearless (Kenneth Williams).

Needless to say the fine captain is anything but, and is more than happy to obey his doctors orders about taking it easy.

Carry On Jack

This doesn't enamour him with his old hands who love fighting the French (who doesn't?) and they hatch a plot for mutiny.

This isn't one of the funnier Carry On movies, but has good production values - it was the first historical effort by the team - and a surprisingly good video transfer. Despite being stereo the sound is basic.

An amusing, rather than hilarious film that is good for Sunday afternoon viewing.

Conclusion: Movie 60% Extras 20%
