City Slicker Mitch (Billy Crystal at his best when
hes hosting the Oscars) discovers a treasure map that
belonged to late mate, Curly (Jack Palance).
Off he and best friend Phil (Daniel Stern), brother Glen
(Jon Lovitz Kirbys sub), and Curly's long-lost
twin, Duke (Jack Palance nice way to work the guy that
got the Oscar Nomination for the first back into proceedings)
go looking for the loot. Yee-Haw!
The most discouraging thing about "City Slickers II"
is that it isnt very funny. Theres a chuckle here
and there, but at the end of the day, nothing that stays with
you.
Actually, the sequel is essentially a Xerox-copy of the first
film but without those laughs, and predominantly, devoid of
those warm fuzzy bits from the first it really did
have a good message, watch it again that gave the heart-strings
a good yank.
DVD Extras
The disc? Meh. No extras. Nothing so special that youd
wanna overlook the films injustices and buy it merely for
the reasonably grain-free transfer.
Conclusion: Movie 55% Extras -5%
