Welcome to Collinwood

It seems that in this world you have winners and losers and, it has to be said, that the characters in Welcome to Collinwood are big-time losers.

So, it seems, is their suburb (Collinwood), which is one of the worst parts of the city of Cleveland.

Everyone needs money and all are hoping for that one big break that will get them out of area and into the suburbs.

Welcome to Collinwood

For one group of neer-do-well residents of Collinwood a chance comes their way and they are desperate to grab it.

It has all come about from an in-prison conversation with a lifer, who knows how to get his hands on a massive amount of money that will see everyone on easy street.

Led by Pero (Sam Rockwell) a would-be boxing champion, the gang consists of left-at-home dad Riley (William H Macy), Leon (Isaiah Washington), Basil (Andrew Davoli) and Toto (Michael Jeter).

The plan is to break into an empty flat that just so happens to have a false wall through which they can get at the riches within a jeweller's shop.

As you would expect, little goes right for these guys and Welcome to Collinwood is a long list of things that shouldn't, but do, go wrong.

It is also viciously funny. There are moments where you will be laughing out loud only to almost choke as something even funnier comes along.

The cast plays the movie perfectly and watch for George Clooney as the expert safe cracker.

Conclusion: 85% Extras: 20%.
