What does it take to make a good sci-fi movie? A good story? Big-name actors? Massive special effects? Bazillions of dollars?

Well, not in the case of this ripper little thriller called Cypher.

Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle

Starring Jeremy Northam and Lucy Liu, and filmed on an estimated budget of $10 million, Cypher is a fantastically gripping mystery about lost identity.

Northam is Morgan Sullivan, an accountant who lives an accountant's existence and wants to more adventure in his life.

He joins up with a giant company called Digicorp and is being used to spy on rivals at conferences.

Suddenly, he discovers that all may not be as it seems and when he is approached by a stranger called Rita (Lucy Liu in her best role to date), he discovers that what he thought was real is not and he is being brainwashed.

What follows is Sullivan's frantic race to discover who he is before the sinister groups running him catch up and eliminate him.

Cypher may have been low budget, but it is has a class that few recent bigger-money attempts have failed to do - entertain and thrill.

The video transfer is perfect and the sound is excellent.

Conclusion: Movie 85% Extras 20%
