Elmo In Grouchland

This is a confession. I love Elmo. He's cute, furry and is just so cuddly you could snuggle in with him forever.

He's also a groovy dancer, as you'll find out in Elmo in Grouchland, a great singer and the little guy has a huge amount of taste as he falls in love at the first sight of Vanessa Williams.

Elmo is also brave and risks his stuffing to save the most important thing in his life - his blankey (blanket), which, through misadventure, has found itself in Grouchland and in the mean clutches of Huxley (Mandy Patinkin).

And why would such a person want a loveable little creature's most treasured possession? He can, that's all!

Patinkin's performance is simply outstanding and he adds a huge helping of sourness to what could have been too much niceness. He obviously relishes the role and shows he has a terrific presence when singing of his greed in Make It Mine.

The other non-Street cast human is singer/actress Vanessa Williams who turns Elmo's head with her style.

If you are an adult watching with the youngsters you could be forgiven for scanning back to restart her Kingdom Shining Bright song and the ultimate challenge she sets for our red hero. The relish with which she blows raspberries is enough to make you quiver. Ooooooooooh.

The other songs in this DVD - Together Forever, Welcome to Grouchland and Take the First Step - are bright, catchy and will have youngsters jumping around the room.

This is a fantastic release for children and worth every penny.
