Elijah Wood plays Sandy, a young fellow who gets sent to
stay with his uncle Porter Ricks on a beautiful beach when
he gets a bit big for his single mum to handle.
The uncle is none other than our own favourite larrikin -
Paul Hogan - and he does a very solid job as the unorthodox
fellow.
If you are worrying this is going to be another Crocodile
Dundee 3 don't, it is much better than that.
What follows is a young teens' adventure involving nasty
dolphin-hating fishermen, teen angst (and love), and fighting
to save a picturesque environment from money-hungry brutes
who care not a jot about dumping toxic waste into the ocean.
Both the sound and video transfer are pretty good, although
film artefacts and some aliasing are present at various times.
It is nothing taxing to sit and watch Flipper with
the kids and the location will make you drool and dream of
a seachange in lifestyle.
Hogan is great, Woods very good and the rest good back-up
characters.
Conclusion: 70% Extras: 25%.
