The banker is Eddie Myers (Sam Neill) and unless he helps
the cops he faces either a long stretch in jail, or else a
short lifespan if the Russian mafia decides to terminate him.
Santini helps capture Myers while on holiday in the West
Indies and is then asked to assist questioning him about the
money laundering and the existence of a zip disk on which
he is supposed to have stored all the details about the operation.
We won't spoil the story, but it has its fair share of action,
plot turns and twists and some very fine acting.
Lowe is excellent as Santini, a man who needs to do well
to get back in the good books of his superiors. Neill, however,
is exceptional as the classy, decadent banker and plays it
with a style that few can better.
Being only a little under an hour-and-a-half, Framed never
loses the plot and its pace carries you along at quite a clip.
The video transfer is very good with no obvious nasties to
distract your eyes and the sound is a pretty good stereo.
This is a very fine evening's rental.
Conclusion: Movie 80%, Extras 0%
