Fu Manchu (Christopher Lee) is back! With his daughter Lin Tang (Tsai Chin) he returns to their home, a walled city in northern China.

He joins forces with the Mafia to destroy those who oppose him, in particular Nayland Smith (Douglas Wilmer) of Scotland Yard.

This time a plastic surgeon and his attractive daughter are abducted, as part of Fu's fiendish plan to wreak his wicked will upon the world. Soon replicas of the upright Commissioner are popping up committing crimes.

Can the force for good outwit the evil one?

As the film develops it's obvious the number of Chinese extras and ornate Oriental settings are beyond the resources of a British or German studio.

In fact they are very familiar. If you view any of the countless Kung Fu movies shot at Run Run Shaw's studios in Hong Kong you'll recognize them. They add much needed vitality into the action scenes and interest in the scenic ones.

It is a pity Jeremy Summers directs the action scenes instead of one of the studio directors.

They know how to shoot fight scenes… and he doesn't.

Compared with its predecessors Vengeance Of Fu Manchu is disappointing.

Conclusion: 60% Extras: 20%.
