The F Word :
Complete 2nd Series

Gordon Ramsay
Review by Sean Lynch

The world just can't seem to get enough of this foul mouthed chef can they?

It's amazing when you think about it. People spend their entire day stuck in an office, trying to avoid (or having to put up with) an annoying boss, arrogant co-workers... or just downright arseholes.

So why in the hell would we want to endure even more abusive work place incidents once we leave our own hell hole and head home for the day?

It's simple - it's always more fun when you aren't the one being yelled at.

THE F WORD

Having already destroyed and conquered restaurants across the UK and the USA with the ever-so-popular Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, the chef with the face that looks like it's been hit with a frying pan is back with yet another series of simple foods... and hanging shit on people who can't defend themselves.

The F Word is a big, bold and fast-paced show fuelled by the irrepressible energy and passion of Ramsay. Each episode includes three Ramsay recipes (every dish something viewers can cook at home... but we all know never will), while Gordon sets himself the challenge of getting the nation to cook Sunday lunch. There is also the occasional visit to Gordon's back garden to meet the pigs he is rearing with his kids (they all look the same, one giant, rich, pig faced family), plus there are a bunch of consumer stories that tell us what we need to know about the food we buy.

The Second Series ups the anti slightly when Ramsay is joined each week in the kitchen by his group of regular seasoned cooks plus a member of the public.

As alsways, if anyone doesn't  quite cut the mustard it's "Ramsay's reputation on the line", so there are facial anger blasts a plenty.

More often than not it's like watching a car crash (or a weird way of watching someone else's domestic disputes) and it's such a guilty pleasure. You find yourself wanting, nay praying, for blood to be shed. For someone to bark back at Gordon - or fly at him with a spatula and gouge out his eyes. But, sadly, that doesn't happen this series (we might have to wait for Gordon Ramsay's Decapi-f**ing-tation Show).

Great viewing, and as opposed to Kitchen Nightmares, a better buy on DVD due to the various recipe segments that are helpful when trying to whip up something impressive at your next dinner party.

DVD EXTRAS

Not to much by way of extras, but there is a cool inclusions of several recipe cards that come with each DVD. Personally, I've never been able to follow cook book instructions without totally making a mess of the whole "dish" - but for those who can... well... cook, it's the perfect extra.

Conclusion: Movie 70% Extras: 85%
