ABC Kids fans and parents of little-uns can now give their children the hair of the dog if they are suffering withdrawal symptoms from the loveable NZ pooch Hairy Maclary.

Hairy Maclary - who we all know is from Donaldon's Dairy - has been a children's book favourite for years and a very entertaining cartoon character on the ABC.

He and his mates Schnitzel Von Krumm, Bottomley Potts, Hercules Morse et al, have a wonderful time creating chaos in their neighbourhood and trying to stay out of the way of Scarface Claw.

The ABC has decided to release 10 episodes of the show on to DVD and has picked out the top-10.

The TV series is narrated by Miranda Harcourt, whose enunication is superb and adds wonderful colour and life to the storybook tales.

If you have youngsters who enjoy the books then this is a terrific DVD to get.
