The odd couple get slightly odder while bush walking one
day and they come across a man (Rhys Ifans) who has been raised
by an ape - well sort of - and Nathan takes him back to train
into being a human again.
Named Puff by Nathan's ambitious French assistant (Miranda
Otto), the monkey man is taught by various means to act like
a person and enjoy the finer things in life.
Some of his training is exceptionally cruel (but funny),
particularly when he is being electrified to stop him giving
in to his baser urges when it comes to the female form.
As you would expect from Charlie Kaufman, the man who wrote
Being John Malkovich, you cannot expect anything to be normal
and the travels and travailles of the characters are both
sad and funny.
The ending is to be expected, but little else.
The image and sound transfers are very good.
Human Nature won't be for everyone, but is well worth
having a look at.
Conclusion: 85% Extras: 40%.
