Kill Bill Volume 2

Oh boy. Having seen Kill Bill 2 twice now in quick succession it just keeps amazing me and hitting all the right buttons.

It is savage. It is funny. It is freaky (the grave scene … Oooooogggghh). It is nasty.

And, it is even better than the first volume of the Kill Bill double.

Kill Bill Volume 2

Kill Bill 2 is fantastic and in it the tortuous journey of revenge taken on by the tortured bride (Uma Thurman) kicks up to a new level of action and humour.

To recap on the story so far. The Bride and her wedding party are wiped out by Bill (David Carradine) and four of his top assassins - O-Ren Ishii (Lucy Liu), Vernita Green (Vivicia Fox), Elle Driver (Darryl Hannah) and Budd (Michael Madsen).

O-Ren Ishii and Vernita Green are dead. Each killed by the Bride for the horrendous losses she has suffered.

Now our gal is closing in on Bill and the remaining killers and she can barely curb her enthusiasm for what she has to do.

Budd is her next target and he seems pretty blasé about the whole thing when he is warned by brother Bill that Kiddo is on his tail. Mind you, he's working as a cat-club bouncer and lives in a caravan so death may not be so bad.

Anyway, things don't quite work out the way they should and there is one particularly evil scene involving being buried alive. This had me sweating in my jocks. I'm hoping to die in my sleep but if I can't I do not want to go like is shown in Kill Bill 2.

We can't say too much more on the plot other than to give it a huge thumbs-up. Wicked and nasty and well rounded.

Thurman is even better in this than the first and we do get to see much more of David Carradine, which is usually good viewing.

This is one of the DVDs of the year.

Conclusion: Movie 95% Extras 75%
