Comments: Having stayed up late in the night to watch
this impressively enjoyable movie, it may be better to wait
until brekkie to view the extras. There are a fair few of
them ranging from several-minute featurettes on aspects of
the movie, to a director's commentary, deleted scenes and
a 15-minute behind the scenes. The featurettes are short and
sharp - and are probably a little too short because they do
get you interested in things such as costumes, Chaucer, jousting,
tournaments and the like. The behind the scenes feature is
pretty much your standard fare, although A Knight's Tale seems
to have been one fun movie to be involved with. The commentary
is terrific with a great deal of camaraderie between mates
Bettany and Helgeland, who wrote the part for the actor. There
are lots of laughs, detail about filming and what happened
in various scenes and a great hint as how to use tape to keep
your wobbly bits from wobbling during nude scenes. All up,
a very good package of extras.
