Lizzie McGuire - When Mum Attacks

The trials and tribulations of teenage girls are very humourously explored in a rather captivating series Lizzie McGuire.

Starring Hilary Duff as the title character, the series looks at the peer pressures of high schools and just how parents just SO don’t understand young adults (that is kids).

There are six episodes on this DVD and they cover such teen culture crises as photos, parties, spreading rumours, gymnastics and the school field trip in Pool Party, Picture Day, Rumours, I’ve got Rhythmic, When Mum Attacks and Jack of All Trades.

Apart from the real-life characters the show throws in cartoons and inner-thoughts via various visual means and all are very well done.

Let’s put it this way – both parents and kids can sit down and enjoy them – very much like a more attitudinal Wonder Years.

The lead actors are personable and good and the script doesn’t suck at all.

Lizzie McGuire is good fun.

Conclusion: Movie 75%
