Men in Black 2: Collector's Edition

You know how everyone keeps saying the world's getting smaller - well, so is the universe.

In fact, half the universe seems to be packed into very small areas if Men in Black 2 is anything to go by.

And if you are a tad paranoid about little green men walking the streets of the earth then who you gonna call? Oooops, wrong movie. Anyway, the Men in Black are back and are keen to kick some serious Alien ass.

It's five years (screentime) since Agent Jay (Will Smith) and Agent Kay (Tommy Lee Jones) last saved the world and of course the latter has had his memory wiped and is going about his life as a civilian.

Jay's new partner is a dork and almost gets the two of them killed by peeving off Jeff, a massive alien worm that lives in New York's sewers.

In need of a new partner, Jay finds himself up against a seriously tough alien. Her name is Serleena (Lara Flynn Boyle) and when she isn't a magazine-model lookalike, she's a nasty caniverous set of roots.

She lands on Earth in an attempt to steal a crystal called the Light of Zortha that will enable her to destroy her enemies and take the Earth along with them.

So, the desperate Jay tracks down Agent Kay and what follows is a nice role-reversal from the first installment where Jay teaches Kay about the Men in Black.

There are heaps of funny moments - the worms and Frank the Pug are way, way out front in the laughs stakes - and Men in Black 2 rolls along at a fast and uncomplicated pace.

Although it lacks the sparkle of the original, MIB2's extra special effects and better storyline make for a very entertaining evening in front of the box.

Smith and Jones are excellent together, Tony Shalhoub is hilarious as an alien who keeps getting his head blown off and Flynn Boyle is okay as the No.1 nasty. Personally, I think she played it too straight when a little flair was need.

The video transfer is sensational and the audio will have your system purring with pleasure.

Conclusion: Movie 85% Extras 70%
