National Security

Be warned this DVD has annoyed some folks, while others think it a hoot. I guess it's a love-hate sort of thing and this chap found it a flawed, enjoyable lark.

National Security follows a Hank Rafferty (Steve Zahn), a policeman, as he sees his partner murdered and then finds himself being booted out of the force after being unfairly found guilty of beating up a black guy Earl Montgomery (Martin Lawrence).

After spending time in prison, Hank is released and gets a job with a security firm where he meets his nemesis in the job and the pair form a hate-hate relationship.

Still fuming at the injustice of his conviction, Hank tolerates Earl as he tries to track down his former partner's killers.

Now, National Security is not the funniest movie you will ever see, nor is it the worst. Zahn is terrific although there are times he gets swamped by Lawrence's usual over-the-top performance.

Still, it has good action and some very funny moments. Politically correct individuals should not attempt to watch it.

Conclusion: 70% Extras: 40%.
