Perfect casting doesn’t always make for a fantastic movie though, as this atrocity so beautifully illustrates.
Around about the time Chevy Chase decided to retire the Vacation
series, National Lampoon got so panicky that they announced – under the
radar – that they would gladly let any stupid comedy use the name
‘National Lampoon’ for a few bucks. Since then, there’s been about two
hundred pieces of crap with the word ‘National Lampoon’s…’ or ‘National
Lampoon Presents…’ above the title.
Pledge This is another film that doesn’t at all deserved to be categorized alongside the likes of Class Reunion or Vacation – it’s quite simply, a shambles. An unfunny shambles.
Released
a mere two-and-a-half years after it was shot (says it all), the film
fixes on a group of snobby sorority chicks that are forced (equal
opportunity rights and all that jazz) to let a group of not-too-pretty
nerds join their gang. In doing so, everyone – but Ms Hilton’s
character – learns a little about themselves… oh, and Simon Rex has his
balls licked by a dog.
Considering Hilton was an executive producer on this from day one, it’s a wonder Universal even touched it.
EXTRASNo extras to speak of, but if you're willing to check out "One Night In Paris" on the net - it's an extra in itself! Conclusion:
