Up and Down the Glory Road is a get together concert where
Clapton goes through the catalogue that makes up his terrific
career and is joined by the likes of Diesel, Jon Farriss and
Garry Beers.
The imagery is crisp and clear and you have a nice selection
of audio and can pick from Dolby 2.0, 5.1 and DTS.
I'm glad the DVD makes zipping around the show easy as I
spent a lot of time replaying chapters and just enjoying the
songs over and over again. Fortunately, no-one was around
to get annoyed with the repeat plays.
There are interviews slotted in throughout the show and these
also appear in the extras. The extras also have a selection
of classic rock video clips to enjoy.
Musically, I can't go past (boring, I know) Girls on the
Avenue and I Am an Island, although Best Years
of Our Lives and Glory Road are pretty damn fine.
The backing musos do go a bit feral on I Am an Island
and it is just wonderful stuff!
This is a must for any true Australian rock music lover.
Keep on going Richard, my man, you are a legend. By the way,
I've fallen in love with Amy your backing singer. Can you
pass on my utter admiration.
