Run Lola Run

Having heard people raving about this movie it was with great expectations that this DVD was flung into the player. Initial reactions were a little mixed.

Okay, so the loving and apparently fit young Lola has to make a dash to meet her boyfriend and if she doesn't make it on time then all hell could break loose.

Well how bad could that be, we asked. He may get in to serious trouble but, hey, he looks a loser and probably deserves what he gets.

So, our athletic heroine sets off on her journey and it is one that, despite being given a lightish touch, has dark and deep traces throughout.

There's shooting, robbery, death and a very nice look at parallel timeslots in our existence.

If you'll excuse the pun, Lola runs for 77 minutes and in that time she has three attempts to achieve her mission of stopping her boyfriend.

It's only on the second attempt that you start to see the cleverness of the movie and learn just how different the lives of all she brushes with can be changed by her being either half a second fast or slow.

From a standing start (action wise) Run Lola Run quickly develops into an exciting and involving story and is well worth the time spent watching it.

Marvellous stuff!

Conclusion: Movie: 90% DVD Extras: 70%
