As usual, Chan is the good guy as sheriff of the old West
town of Carson City, while his erstwhile buddy Roy is spending
all their previously earned wealth on wine, women, song …
and Zeppelins.
News of the death of his father is brought to America by
Chan's younger sister (Fann Wong) who is not only beautiful
but one kick-butt kung-fu expert. T
he pair discover that the thieves have travelled on to London
where they are hatching a dastardly plot that will change
the course of history of not only China but also Britain.
Apart from terrific action scenes and the great banter between
the two leads, the chaos they wreak in Victorian London is
wittily hilarious.
Let's put it this way, you'll discover the origins of Sherlock
Holmes, meet a street urchin becomes someone very famous and
discover what really happened to Jack the Ripper.
Shanghai Knights is a funny adventure with two very likeable
leads and a couple of good villains. Well worth looking at.
Conclusion: 80% Extras: 40%.
