Soul Survivors

Review by James Anthony

Now not usually being a huge fan of teenage-oriented movies it has to be said that Soul Survivors has more going for it than most.

And I don't just mean big wobbly bits, hunks and honeys either.

It has a pretty good plot, a cute cast, and once you've worked out what you think is going on will actually keep you interested enough to keep watching to see if you were right.

It is the story of a group of school friends - Cassie, Sean, Matt and Annabel - head off to college and find trouble after a night at a rave club.

Cassie's drive home goes terribly wrong when a car of hoons causes an accident they cannot avoid and her boyfriend Sean (Casey Affleck) is killed.

Haunted by her loss, Cassie finds herself being alienated from the real world and her surviving friends Matt (Wes Bentley) and Annabel (Eliza Dushku) do their best to keep her from descending into a cycle of self-blame.

Then things start to go really wrong and Cassie finds herself battling for more than her sanity. Hey, I should write the backs of the DVD covers.

Anyway, if you have to keep your teens entertained and yourself from being completely bored witless then Soul Survivors is pretty acceptable fare.

Conclusion: Movie 75% Extras 20%
