Stitch the Movie

Review by James Anthony

Those mad aliens and the naughtiest girl in the world return to the screen in the follow-up movie to the smash hit effort Lilo and Stitch.

Stitch, or experiment 626, was bad enough, but what about the 625 versions Jumba made before he got it right with him?

Well, in Stitch! The Movie, we get to meet many of the previous incarnations as Captain Gantu joins forces with Jumba's evil former partner to unleash the little monsters upon an unsuspecting universe.

And it's up to Lilo, Nani, Stitch, Pleakley and Jumba to stop them from being immersed in water and regenerating back to their full-grown dangerous selves.

That's the plot. And the first things one asks is how does it compare with Lilo and Stitch.

Well, the artwork is as good and the characters continue almost seamlessly from the original movie. However, there is something lacking from this rather tame follow-up.

Firstly there is only one Elvis song and it is fair to say that both the Presley tracks and excellent Hawaiian music from Lilo and Stitch boosted that movie's appeal greatly.

Secondly the evil partner - Hamsterviel - is awful. He looks like a feral rabbit and sounds like John Cleese doing a French accent.

Stitch! The Movie is okay watching, but it is one that adults will find themselves trying to find something else to do after the first viewing.

Conclusion: 70% Extras: 80%.
