One of the new departments at St. Trinian's finishing school for young ladies is the Marriage Bureau. It wins a UNESCO prize for a trip to Rome against the wishes of the Ministry of Education.

What is supposed to be a cultural experience is a cover for the real objective, which is to provide the pick of the senior class for the entertainment of a rich Italian nobleman.

Meanwhile at the school Headmistress Fritton (Alastair Sim) has been jailed and the father of one of the girls, Joe Mangan (Lionel Jeffries) uses this venerable institution as a hiding place for stolen diamonds.

Once more police sergeant Ruby Gates (Joyce Grenfell) is on the case, which leads her into the arms of a smooth talking tour guide, (Terry Thomas).

Blue Murder At St Trinian's is an assemblage of scenes, some funny, others banal. The characters though are very appealing and the pace is almost sufficient to hide the defects in the script, but not quite.

With the comic talents of: Terry- Thomas, Joyce Grenfell, Alastair Sim, Lionel Jeffries, George Cole and the looks of Sabrina it should be far more entertaining than it is.

Conclusion: Movie 75% Extras - 20%
