The Ministry of Education isn't prepared to fund a new building
until after a general election when a new Labour minister
is appointed then there is a change of heart. He happens to
be an intimate friend of the Headmistress.
So the building is bought and she recruits her staff, only
the most qualified need apply.
The Assistant Head is released from jail, the maths teacher
is a cardsharp and the arts mistress is an accomplished striptease
artiste.
The school is re-opened but what the innocent pupils and
staff don't realize is that the by now desperate gang is going
to recover the booty no matter what they have to do to achieve
their ends.
In The Great St.Trinian's Train Robbery we have again a disconnected
series of sketches and gags, a number of them very funny.
An alternative title could be Carry On Schoolgirls, it has
a similar style to the well known comedy series.
As in the previous St. Trinian's films all the actors are
excellent. Along with Dora Bryan are Frankie Howerd, George
Cole, Richard Wattis and Reg Varney, household names of the
sixties.
It's a bit saucy but there's nothing in it that would embarrass
the cat.
Conclusion: Movie 70% Extras - 20%
