Narrator: Kenneth Branagh

Jasper James.

Cast: Brilliantly computer-generated creatures from era long, long ago.

Extras: Triumph of the Beasts, The Beasts Within, Beast Fact Files, Photo Gallery, Crew Interviews, Storyboard Comparisons.

Comments: The Beasts Fact File contains a sensational depth of info on the stars of the series and include everything you'd ever want to know about them from what they ate, what they became (or died out), and the size compared with humans. The highlights of the disc 2 extras are the 50-minute features on The Triumph of the Beasts and The Beasts Within. The former is a condensed history of mammals, together with interviews with experts and the key members of the series production team, while the second looks closely at the rise of primates. Both of these are excellent and well worth wtaching. Other extras include a photogallery with almost 50 images of the creatures featured during the series and a storyboard feature.
