Comments: The commentary is very, very interesting,
while fairly dry, and you get to hear about the production
in fantastic detail. Tons of info, not a lot of humour, but
if you are into this movie its a must. The Making of
Zulu is a hugely enjoyable telling of how it all came about
through the eyes of Bakers widow, actors James Booth
and Glyn Edwards, Robert Porter and stuntman/actor Ian Porter.
This is brilliant stuff for movie buffs as it not only goes
into how the idea came about, the setting up of the shoots,
the difficulties of filming in apartheid South Africa, the
fun times on set and the huge success it proved to be.
Theres a huge amount of tribute payed to Baker, his
professionalism and nature, and all the goss on how Michael
Caine got the role. It is nice to see Booth, who played Private
Hook, fessing up to the fact that his film character
a thief, layabout and general skiver was nothing
like the real man who was the epitomy of a brave and moral
man.
