Life and Times of Natrasher Democrat-Destroyer

There is very little in life I enjoy seeing more than a politician squirming in the spotlight.

The white-hot glaze of the lights and their wide-eyed "bugga it's going to hit me" look has me thrilling to the expectation of the kill.

Cheryl "I hate Laurie Oakes" Kernot is one in recent memory and another soon-to-be-former-leader of the keep-the-buggas-honest party, Natrasher Democrat-Destroyer, is looking at cameras in the same startled way.

Now Natrasher Democrat-Destroyer has had a pretty charmed political life so far and, despite her party heading down the gurgler faster than a toenail clipping, is putting a brave face on the self-destruction of the Democrats.

One senator has quit - peed off to the max at the apparent party campaign against her - and another long-time Demo has basically thrown his hands up in disgust.

But Natrasher Democrat-Destroyer is determined to fight on at the head of a quickly diminishing band of loyal followers and good luck to her. I haven't seen so much courage since I shook the hands of the captain of the Titanic and then, having stolen a woman's shawl, legged it over the side and into the lifeboat.
