Taxing times for Libs

You just wouldn't believe it would you? Two senior Liberals have been associated with alleged rorting of the new tax system.

It happened in Queensland and is connected with a Liberal party fundraiser where someone, or sometwos, stuffed up GST claims.

Now in view of an election just down the way a bit, it doesn't look very good does it?

I mean if I made a mistake on my pension form or tax return I'd be up for all sorts of penalties and grief, as would almost every other Australian in this great country.

However, the nasty sight of one rule for all - except politicians and their parties - has once again reared its ugly head.

These guys are senior people in their party and not only should know how their tax system works, but should be above reproach when it comes to the Australian Peoples' money.

If they are guilty of not doing the right thing they should have the decency - hang on, I must have just had a brain seizure thinking pollies would be decent - or moral courage (oh, no, it's happening again) and step down while an inquiry is on.

No one should be above the law - or seen to be above the law - not even those who think God acts like them.
