You're no Saint, Peter!

You've just got to hand it to those in power, their way is the only way and sod the rest of us.

This time around it's our Governor-General Dr Peter Hollingsworth who's in the crap about decisions he made over a child abuse case more than a decade ago.

Without going into all the grubby goings on, Hollingworth was the top Anglican in Brisbane at a time when a church boarding school teacher 'fessed up to abusing 20 girls and killed himself.

The fact the perpetrater committed suicide is a positive, but then came the questions about did the church do enough to not only help those poor girls, but also hunt out perverts within its ranks.

Hollingworth has rejected claims he did not do enough to act on sexual abuse while Archbishop of Brisbane and has offered sympathy to child-sex abuse victims.

He said he was sorry that legal and insurance issues limited "taking a more active role and more overtly expressing the church's concern for the physical, emotional and spiritual welfare of those affected".

Now Peter, old sock, that is Canberra-speak if ever I've bloody heard it. For God's sake, take it on the chin man. The church - no matter what religion - is becoming an irrelevance because it doesn't face up to making hard moral decisions about its own little boys' club in the clergy.

How can a church dare have the cheek to criticise anybody, or any organisation, in this country over "moral" matters, when it is prepared to let sick perverted scum not only avoid prosecution, but then allow them to transfer elsewhere to continue their revolting practices.

Peter, in case you didn't know, hundreds of years ago there was a small thing where Protestants split from the Catholic Church because they were sick of its ways.

Why then, would some modern Anglican clergy think that picking up the priestly curse of child abuse is a good thing? Leave it to the other side.

As I have said before - a good ped, is a dead ped. Long may they rot. But so, hopefully, will those who know of abuse of kids and do nothing to protect the little ones.

Adults are there to protect children and if you don't you're a bloody disgrace. Go to hell!
