When
it comes to Michael Moore, you probably sit in one of two very firmly
established camps : Love or Hate. Not because of the way he makes his
films... but the subject matter.
So, if you are an evil money grubbing white collar thug, then I think we can all safely guess which camp you fall into and that Capitalism : A Love Story is hardly going on your DVD wish list anytime soon.
Capitalism
will explore the root causes of the global economic meltdown and take a
comical look at the corporate and political shenanigans that culminated
in what Moore described as "the biggest robbery in the history of this
country" - the massive transfer of U.S. taxpayer money to private
financial institutions.
Moore has a great ability to make rather
complex issues fairly palatable to Joe Public, and he does a pretty
decent effort to make some sense of the complete sham the GFC was.
For
most, the film will leave you fuming at what we've allowed our
politcians to get away with, and kind of depresses you knowing that no
matter how much you try - at the end of the day - there really isn't to
much you can do about it.
Sure, the idea of a "Staff Lock In" is
inspiring - but the reality is, there are some greedy SOB's who are
still skipping from country to country with the tax dollars YOU earned
and the goverment happily gave to them.
It's yet another eye opening affair into a world very few know about or understand, and that can only be a good thing.
