Having
been in the business quite some time, there is something strangely
"over it" about Brendan Fraser. His recent spate of press interviews
for The Mummy : Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor
were decidedly "I've had my fun, let someone else have a go" - and you
kind of get the feeling he just doesn't want to be part of it.
That said, he might have just been embarrassed about having to promote a junk film like The Mummy 3.
So when talk turned to the adaption of the classic Jules Verne novel Journey To The Centre Of The Earth, Fraser's ears pricked up and all of a sudden - he looked like an excited kid. Why? It seems Fraser is a sucker for technology!
The
advancements in the 3D technology of the film not only offered a new
pair of 3D glasses - but a new experience all together. The two
featurettes below take as inside the studios and behind the curtain to
see what exactly goes into making a film of this scale.

Journey
To The Centre Of The Earth : Behind The Scenes
But what is the movie all about? Surely it's not all special effects!
In
nutshell - no one believes that Trevor Anderson (Brendan Fraser)
is on to something. The science professor's unconventional hypotheses
have put him on the fringe of the academic community. But during an
expedition in Iceland, Trevor and his teenage nephewm Sean (Josh
Hutcherson), accompanied by their beautiful local guide, Hannah (Anita
Briem), make a breakthrough discovery that launches them on a thrilling
adventure into the unknown.
As their journey takes them deep
beneath the Earth's surface, they travel through never-before-seen
worlds that bring them face-to-face with surreal and unimaginable
creatures, stretching the bounds of the visionary scientist's own
imagination.
Based on the classic Jules Verne novel,Journey to the Center of the Earth
is the first live-action feature film to be shot and released entirely
in digital 3D. With spectacular photo-real environments and
revolutionary new filmmaking techniques taking audiences directly into
the heart of our heroes' adventure, brining them along for an
unprecedented, wild and visceral ride.
