Knowing : Behind The Scenes
with Rose Byrne
Watch The
Trailer: Knowing
It's one thing to have to endure a movie starring Nicholas Cage - but
it's an entirely different kettle of fish having to sit through the
glorious beauty of Australian Rose Byrne.
While Hugh Jackman, Eric Bana and Russell Crowe wave the Aussie flag in
the eyes of Hollywood, Rose Byrne has gone relatively unnoticed -
despite boasting a CV more impressive than most of her male peers.
From humble begininngs in the delightful The Rage In Placid Lake (with
singer Ben Lee), to the big budget Troy
(yep, she is the dastardly gal who got to hook in with Brad Pitt) as
well as helming the popular TV series Damages - this gal
has pretty much done it all... and with a minimal amount of fuss.
Her latest is Knowing
(which was shot in Melbourne) and as this interview attests - it's all
about being Australian!
For those who are interested, the film
follows Professor Ted Myles, whose son returns home from school with a
piece of paper that had been buried in a time capsule for 50 years.
Cryptic rows of apparently random numbers written on the page contain
an encoded message which has predicted the details of every major
disaster of the past 50 years, including three that have yet to happen
- oh yeah, and one little one that involves destruction on a
global scale.
With time running out, Ted's attempts to alert the authorities fall on
deaf ears so he takes it upon himself to try to prevent more
destruction - and perhaps the ultimate disaster - from taking place.
Cheesy as hell - but why not - after all,
it's directed by the man behind The
Crow and I,
Robot in Alex Proyas.
