Movie Buzz : Star Trek Sequel - Casting News

Jack Black Joining Cast of JJ Abrams Star Trek Sequel?

By Sean Lynch
Jack Black in JJ Abrams Star Trek sequel

If you've already seen The Hangover, you'll know very well that there is a new weird, fat bearded comedy star on the seen in Zach Galifianakis... so Jack Black better watch out.

However, it doesn't look like the Tenacious D star is losing his crown as "King Fatty" anytime soon.

Rumours are now surfacing, perhaps as fact, that JJ Abrams is hunting the comedian down to star in the sequel to his $200M hit Star Trek.

The folks over at AICN recieved some mail from JJ Abrams himself (the man behind Lost, Alias and M:I3) in which he suggested that "Yes, talking to Jack Black about doing something - but not Mudd".

That said, he concedes that "Bryan, Damon, Alex and Bob and I have not had MEETING ONE about a sequel" as of yet, but does suggest that  "For the sequel? I think we should have a shitload more lens flares".

Jack Black, currently starring in Harold Ramis' comedy Year One, has yet to comment on the rumours...
