Aliens Vs Predator - Requiem: New
Trailer!
Should we be excited? It feels wrong - after the last one which made
most of us fall asleep - to be so giddy for another Alien Vs. Predator
movie? Another Freddy
Vs Jason - yeah, that will get me excited...but AVP?? Come On!
Chances are, I'll end up like an over-eager Prom Queen, armed with a
bottle of wine, that's tricked into sliding into the back-seat with the
ugly-ass school mascot. But heck, let's pretend that the Straus
brothers have actually made a sweet-ass AvP movie - one
that'll make us all go "yippee!" again. Come December, we'll find out.
The only upside it seems from the trailer is that the PG shite has been
thrown out the window - and ultra violence have been put in. So - it's
not all down hill it seems!
Lost Boys 2: The Tribe -
Update!
Corey Feldman’s smiling from ear to ear.
And you can’t blame him – he’s just scored a role in a film that people
are actually going to see.
Feldman tells MTV that he’s super excited about The Lost Boys 2 : The Tribe
because the script is super and he has a pivotal role.
"Warner
Bros. has further developed the script — they brought on a great writer
[Hans Rodionoff, who] came up with a great story line," Feldman said, a
Cheshire grin stretching across his face. "And in that script they have
included [me], Corey Haim and Jamison Newlander as featured parts in
the film. [In] the script, as it is today, I am one of the leads. My
involvement is very close to what my involvement was in the first one.
So I'm pretty much scattered throughout.”
Feldman says the script is similar to that of the first films.
"Once
again, you have a fish-out-of-water story of two young folks who move
into a new town to visit their relatives and find themselves caught up
with a bunch of bloodsuckers," Feldman discussed of the flick's setup.
"I really like the script because of the fact that it is very close and
very true to the structure of the original film — same kind of scares,
same kind of laughs, same kind of relationships."
In the film,
Feldman’s reprising his role as vampire-killing character Edgar Frog –
who he says hasn’t changed a bit since the 1987 original, only his
circumstances have.
"[Edgar] was always an outcast, but [here]
his close-knit family have drifted apart. They've had a major problem,
and because of that problem, Edgar today is working alone," he
continued. "[The film is] about him trying to still carry the torch as
it were, without the aid and assistance of his partners. That leaves
him in an even lonelier and even more delicate place than he was in the
first film being the outsider that he already was."
According to Playback, Jason Patric will also have a small role in the
upcoming Lost Boys” sequel, The Lost Boys 2 : The Tribe.
Though
Patric’s career isn’t exactly on fire at the moment, he’s seemingly the
type of actor that only accepts parts when he feels they offer
something special – such as the one he played in Joe
Carnahan’s Narc.
Does Lost Boys 2
really fall into that category?
Justice
League Movie: Update!
Hard to believe that just six months ago or so, we copped it for
claiming inside sources were telling us that the Justice League
movie would happen before the Superman Returns
sequel. And what's happening? Hmm. How ya like 'dem apples?
Anyway, Last week we reported that the superhero orgy film, Justice League,
is about get underway down Burbank way. We also mentioned that neither
Brandon Routh or Christian Bale have been asked to reprise their roles
as Superman and Batman, respectively, for the film.
A few days
later, we received word that the film will use some form of CGI or
motion-capture technique – and therefore, assumingly, wouldn’t require
actors as such but simply booming voices to speak for the tighted
wonder-crew.
Some of that’s true. It seems there will be some
CGI or motion-capture stuff going on – but according to IESB, only some
aspects of the film (like underwater scenes) will be filmed that way
and the rest will be live-action – meaning, yes, there will be actors
needed to play the legendary line-up.
And you’ll never believe
who has been offered the chance to don Superman’s red and blue tights –
and quite frankly, I love it! – none other than TVs Clark Kent, Tom
Welling. IESB says several sources have informed them that the Smallville star has
been offered the gig.
We
checked in with a WB source this morning who backed up the news – to a
degree, without confirming it; simply hinting that Welling may have
been discussed – so if it comes off, fans shouldn’t be too pissed about
the Superman switcheroo for this movie. (Not sure how they’d work this
into Smallville
though). Keep your address book set to IESB whilst they try and chase
up a confirmation.
Now how are they going to not cheese off Batman fans though? Cast Adam
West?
According
to a scooper for IESB – as the site reminds readers, take it with a
grain of salt until they gather up more intel – Laurence Fishburne may
be the first choice to play The Martin Manhunter in the forthcoming
(and much talked about) Justice
League of America movie.
Hmm.
If true – and it’s possible, considering the Fish worked with the
studio on the uber successful Matrix
movies – Fishburne would make a great Manhunter. But man, isn’t he
getting sick of the comic book stuff yet? This year alone he’s already
lent his lungs to both Fantastic
Four : Rise of the Silver Surfer and TMNT. Still, I
suppose he hasn’t got to wear a rubber suit yet. And until you have,
you’re not quite a bona-fide superfreak.
Though
nothing’s been confirmed yet, the word is Tom Welling is the favourite
to play Superman in the movie, whist Ryan Reynolds will be suiting as
The Flash. You can now add Fishburne to the rumour pile.

Trailer Trash is officially our favourite new article in Hot Goss.
There's such a good range of great - to terribly poor - movies on
offer. Here's two more. The first the latest Dr. Suess adaption
(starring Jim Carrey and Steve "I Make A Movie A Week" Carrell) as well
as the latest 'Not Charlie and the Chocolate Factory But Wants To Be" flick.
