Interview
with Guy Ritchie Director
of RocknRolla.
While the world is still reeling from the
news of the split of one of the world's most powerful couples (and no,
I'm not talking about 'Brangalina'... or Rosanne and Tom Arnold) the
phrase "The Show Must Go On" echoes across the Hollywood landscape.
Sure, Guy Ritchie (creator of such cinematic greats as Lock, Stock & Two
Smoking Barrels and Snatch)
may have just given up the chance to inherit a decent sized chunk of
Madonna's $700 million fortune (although, to be fair, Ritchie is worth
upwards of $70 million himself... no need for the greed!) - but that
doesn't stop the man from spruiking his latest flick!
The movie in question is RocknRolla, Ritchie's
latest story of sex, thugs and good old fashioned Rock 'n' Roll.
The action comedy takes a dangerous ride into high crime and low life
in contemporary London, where real estate has supplanted drugs as the
biggest market, and criminals are its most enthusiastic entrepreneurs.
But for anyone looking to get in from small-time crook One Two (300's
Gerard Butler) to shady Russian billionaire Uri Ornovich (Karel Roden),
there's only one man to see: Lenny Cole (Tom Wilkinson).
As always, we can expect a bit of violence - what would a Guy Ritchie
movie be without it - and it's already being hailed as a much needed
return to form for the, now, Ex-Material Girl.
But enough from us - let's here it straight from the man himself!
Guy Ritchie on the set of RocknRolla (without Madonna of course!)
RocknRolla is a return to form for Guy Ritchie.
RocknRolla rocks into cinemas from October 30th, 2008
