Alana Curry: Interview

Interview by Clint Morris

Interview with Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines actor, Alana Curry

Curry says she managed not
to hurt herself on the set

"I'm really excited to see the fans reactions. I think the special effects will be so much better than the previous films, simply because special effects have come so far since ten years ago."

A giant say for Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines star Alana Curry - but she honestly believes it to be true.

The latest chapter in the enormously popular "Terminator" series is one of the best, if not the best, she believes.

Curry, a graduate of TV and independent film, is a newcomer to the series and can't contain her excitement at being involved.

"It feels incredible to be part of such a legendary series. Terminator fans are so loyal and there is such a big following for the Terminator movies.

"I play a teenager and me and my boyfriend, Bill Anderson (played by Brian Sites) are having a party when the Terminatrix crashes it and comes after us. You'll just have to see the movie to see what happens to us."

Curry adds, "I can't speak for anyone else, but I didn't have any injuries. The only funny thing was during a scene I was filming with Kristianna Loken there is a gun that fires, and the bullet shell hit my bare foot (because I was wearing sandals). I tell you, that stung so bad but I had to grin and bear it because we were rolling."

"Well, during one of my scenes I spend the majority of my time sitting on a couch. If that's not physically challenging, I don't know what is ... I'm just kidding, my role was more emotional than physical. I got to cry and scream a lot. The only other big challenge was staying awake. We worked nights and sometimes I shot 6:00pm to 6:00am in the morning!" she adds.

The actress says it was daunting meeting him at first, but her famous co-star, Arnold Schwarzenegger, was a big puppy. "He's a really nice guy and still looks fabulous, if I do say so myself," smiles Curry. "I have a great experience with everyone on the film, actually."

Next up Curry can be seen in the film Is this seat Taken. "It's a great independent movie, really well written, very witty and funny. It should be hitting the film festival circuit and then onto video/DVD after that. I worked with some really talented actors and had a great time on that film," she says.

And having done a lot of television, how does it differ from film? "I love doing television. I've worked on all kinds of different shows - soap operas are really fun, I like the one hour dramas also.

"But it's really exciting working on sitcoms because I kind of get a rush working in front of a live audience. Films are long hours and a lot of work, but very rewarding."

And in her opinion, what are the chances of a T4? "I think it'd be great if they made a fourth one. I'd guess it would depend on how well this one does at the box office. So make sure you all rush out to see it!"

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines commences in Australia from Thursday July 17.
