Does anyone else ever get the feeling that Roland Emmerich is just the
most pessamistic son of a gun in the world?
Let's look at his track record - there isn't a movie that isn't about
the end of the world in sight. Godzilla,
The Day After Tomorrow, Eight Legged Freaks and of course
Independence
Day. It seems the guy is convinced we are all doomed to
die!
His
latest takes a look at the end of the world once again. Never before
has a date in history been so significant to so many cultures, so many
religions, scientists, and governments. 2012
is an epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the
world and tells of the heroic struggle of the survivors.
Now,
I'm not trying to start anything... but does anyone else think the fact
that Sarah Palin will likely run and win the US Presidential election
in 2012 scare you more than the prospects of this movie. Or, perhaps,
the two events are linked?
Either way, it'll be popcorn fun that
stars the likes of John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Danny Glover, Amanda
Peet and the sexy Thandie Newton.
