There has never been an Australian production with so much pressure placed upon it's head. Not only did Baz Lurhman's upcoming Gone With The Wind style epic cost a small fortune - the Aussie government are also investing large quantities of cash into it... and no one has even seen a final cut of the movie yet.

Set in northern Australia before World War II, an English aristocrat who inherits a sprawling ranch reluctantly pacts with a stock-man in order to protect her new property from a takeover plot. As the pair drive 2,000 head of cattle over unforgiving landscape, they experience the bombing of Darwin, Australia, by Japanese forces firsthand.

Hugh Jackman takes on a role originally intended for Russell Crowe (must admit, it's probably the best choice that could have been made for this flick) - but the big worry here is that Nicole Kidman has been tarnished as "Box Office Poison" of late after a string of flops.
