It's been a long hard haul for the
Australian film industry, because for every Lantana - there was
a You And Your Stupid
Mate. But 2009 has been very kind to Aussie films - as
seen in the success of Sampson
And Delilah, My
Year Without Sex and Mary & Max.
And now we are going to be able to add one more to that list... Beautiful Kate.
A writer, Ned Kendall, is asked to return to the family home by his
sister Sally, to say goodbye to his father who is dying. The family
home is in a very remote and isolated area. While back home, Ned starts
having memories of his beautiful twin sister and himself when they were
children. These memories awaken long-buried secrets from the family's
past.
A superb cast including Rachel Griffiths, Bryan Brown, Ben Mendelsohn
promises to make Beautiful Kate one of the must see Australian films of
the year - let's just hope the Australian public actually make the
effort!

Kate will wander into Australian cinemas from August 6,
2009.
