The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

THE MOVIE CHANNEL | BOX OFFICE | MORE TRAILERS

The folks in the Web Wombat offices have always been a sucker for flicks with a slight element of fantasy and magic. For mine, Big Fish was always one massively under rated movie (especially when you consider people praised the terrible Tim Burton remake of Charlie And The Chocolate Factory).

So it's good to see that the idea of magic and fantasy isn't dead (or limited to being destroyed under the weight of a Harry Potter title).

And so begins The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, an adaptation of 1920s story by F. Scott Fitzgerald about a man who is born in his eighties and ages backwards.

A man, like any of us, who is unable to stop time.

We follow his story, set in New Orleans from the end of World War I in 1918, into the 21st century, following his journey that is as unusual as any mans life can be. Directed by David Fincher (a true genius when it comes to visuals and composition) and starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swinton and Jason Flemyng.

It's set to be a grand tale of a not-so-ordinary man and the people and places he discovers along the way, the loves he finds, the joys of life and the sadness of death, and what lasts beyond time.

Could be either a surprise Box Office hit, or a cult DVD gem!
