I'm not exactly sure when it was that Australia's Isla Fisher (formerly of the piss-poor soapie Home & Away)
became a Hollywood A-Lister (could it have something to do with being
up the duff with Borat's baby??) - but for some reason she is now
headlining movies.
Her latest, is set to be a commercial (if not at the very least) cult hit.
Based on the books Confessions of a Shopaholic and Shopaholic Takes Manhattan
by Sophie Kinsella the comedy follows Rebecca Bloomwood (Fisher), a 25
year old who lives with her best friend Suze (Krysten Ritter) in Suze's
flat in a trendy part of town.
She is hopelessly addicted
to shopping and drowning in a sea of debt, thanks to a poorly paying
and boring job working for a financial magazine.
Expect hijinx a plenty, and the Sex And The City crowd to flock to this in their droves.
And who said consumerism was dead!
