When is to much too much, and when is too little more than enough? A strong case could be made that the larger the scale of the iconic Die Hard franchise gets, the further away they get from what made the original great.
While many suggest the first Die Hard is a near perfect concept (normal man, extraordinary situation) the most recent Die Hard sequel, Die Hard 4.0 (aka Live Free Or Die Hard) was little more than a generic action movie with iconic character names.
Sadly, the fifth Die Hard movie looks like it travels down the same path. Big in action, little by way of having ANYTHING to do with the original.
This time around Bruce Willis' John McClane heads to Russia who, for the first time, finds himself on foreign soil after traveling to Moscow to help his wayward son Jack (cue father son bickering side story) unaware that Jack is really a highly-trained CIA operative out to stop a nuclear weapons heist.
With the Russian underworld in pursuit, and battling a countdown to war, the two McClanes discover that their opposing methods make them unstoppable heroes.
Look, this may be a lot of fun... but don't trick us into thinking it's Die Hard!
