Sneak Peak at "Dorian
Gray"
with
Sean Lynch
Look out Twilight, there is
a new immortal on the block (albeit one not vampire based), and he's
just as brooding and personality-less as that damn Robert Pattinson.
His name - Dorian Gray.
Yes, it seems with Vampire culture at it's all time high, it was only a
matter of time before the studios went back to the archives to see what
stories they could dig up and slap a young hunk in. It seems Dorian Gray is the
first off the bat - but by no means the last.
Based on the classic novel by Oscar Wilde, Dorian Gray tells
of a beautiful young man named Dorian (Narnia's Ben
Barnes). He arrives in Victorian London and is swept into a social
whirlwind by the charismatic Henry Wotton (Colin Firth), who introduces
Dorian to the hedonistic pleasures of the city.
When a portrait of Dorian Gray is unveiled, it looks so beautiful, that
he makes a pledge: he would give anything to stay as he is in the
picture - even his soul.
Dorian
Gray examines the destructive power of beauty, the blind
pursuit of pleasure and the darkness that can result. But, more than
anything, it's a nice way for studio execs to make a few bucks off
young girls who haven't quite worked out what "c*ckteasing" is just yet.
Dorian Gray will
brood into Australian cinemas on Novermber 12, 2009.
